SWN-047: A Mother's Strength: Mitu's Path to Recovery

Mitu Begum, a 25-year-old mother from Char Velakopar Hanagar village in Kurigram, faces immense challenges as she cares for her two young sons, one of whom is disabled. Abandoned by her husband four years ago, Mitu struggles with Rheumatoid Arthritis, leaving her unable to work effectively. Despite her condition, she works as a domestic helper to support her children. Silent Hands Support stepped in to assist with her treatment, successfully completing her first foot operation on November 5, 2019. Mitu now needs a second surgery, costing Tk 30,000 ($517 AUD), and 20-25 days of hospitalization. With the support of compassionate donors, Mitu hopes to recover and regain her ability to care for her family. The project was completed on November 30, 2019.
